The images shown here are snap-shots taken at a resolution of
640x480 pixels. Images were then reduced to 320x240 to reduce
load times.
I think the image quality is a good compromise. If you want
high quality, why not load the shareware version (651 kB) or the
freeware version (303 kB) now?

This screen saver creates Mandelbrot fractals - using 32-bit
code even under Windows 3.x (and without Win32s).
If supported by the display it uses 256 colours and / or
palette animation.
